City Council
The Council of the City of Virden, by passage of ordinances, has established regularly scheduled meetings for the Council and standing committees of the Council. Regular City Council meetings will be held in the first Monday of each month, unless there is a state holiday on that Monday. In such case, the meeting will be held on the Tuesday immediately following the state holiday. All Council meetings begin at 7 p.m. at the Virden Community Center unless otherwise posted.
Meetings of the standing committees of the City Council will be held on the following days of each month unless otherwise posted:
• Public Works Committee: First Thursday of each month
• Administrative Committee: Second Thursday of each month
• Police Committee: Third Thursday of each month
•Finance Committee: Fourth Thursday of each month

The event will benefit the food pantries in Virden and Girard. The event is being organized and put on by a group of Macoupin County youth. I hope you can come out and support a wonderful cause and show the youth what happens when individuals and communities come together for a common purpose. If you cannot attend the event, I hope you will forward this information or distribute as you see fit.

In addition, I am also looking for some more volunteers ages 5-25 to volunteer at the event and/or help with pre-event prep. Volunteers can contact me via email or telephone. My contact information is listed below.
